Owayi, a project of Ember Eagle Ltd (71-75 Shelton Street, Covent Garden, WC2H 9JQ London, United Kingdom), is a professional networking platform. By creating an account or using Owayi, you agree to these terms.
Owayi is meant for networking and working, not for debating or polarizing. That's why these rules apply to everyone, without exception.
Content that promotes, glorifies, attacks or criticizes political positions, parties, candidates or officeholders, regardless of country, party, ideology or figure. This rule applies symmetrically: no political direction is treated differently from another.
Allowed: factually mentioning a role or title in a professional profile without an accompanying position, and business or charitable communication from organizations active in a societal domain, as long as it is not tied to a specific party, candidate or election.
Content that glorifies, incites, or threatens violence against people or groups. Factually mentioning a role or background (for example security consultant or former military) is not glorification of violence.
No sexual content, and no offering, promoting or selling of sexual services, in any form, for anyone on the public platform.
Legitimate companies, organizations and professionals working with or for this sector (for example specialized financial service providers, NGOs protecting the rights or safety of this sector, or specialized lawyers and health organizations) may present themselves professionally, as long as they do not themselves offer, promote or sell sexual services.
Mass or unwanted connection requests, sending automated requests, or repeatedly contacting someone after they have declined.
Owayi may offer closed communities that are only accessible after verification through a recognized external organization. The same content rules apply within such a community as elsewhere on Owayi. Members may not offer any form of services or products, including non-sexual ones; only the recognized verifying organizations themselves may promote their own support and resources there. Members remain anonymous to each other (using an alias), and do not have a separate, public Owayi profile on the main network.
Users who wish to register as an investor get free access to Owayi's investor section. To access this section, they first go through an identity check, including verification of an identity document and a live biometric check.
Startups can register and create a profile on Owayi free of charge. To actively search for investors and use the platform's full fundraising features, startups can take out a monthly subscription. The subscription can be cancelled monthly and ended at any time, with no long-term contractual commitment.
A startup decides for itself which information it makes publicly available and which information is shared only with selected investors. Its identity and further company information are not automatically disclosed to investors without its consent.
Owayi does not ask for or receive any commission, success fee or percentage on investments made through the platform. Owayi's revenue is based on subscriptions and any additional platform services, not on the amount or success of an investment.
Owayi never takes a commission or transaction fee on services, assignments or investments between users. Owayi is not a marketplace for trading services.
You remain the owner of what you post. By posting it, you only give Owayi the permission needed to show it to the right people (for example your connections, or publicly if you set it that way yourself).
You can delete your own account at any time. Owayi may restrict or remove an account for a violation of these terms, with a reasonable opportunity to object except in cases of serious or repeated violations.
Owayi is provided as is, without guarantee of uninterrupted or error-free operation. To the extent permitted by law, Owayi is not liable for indirect or consequential damages (including lost profit or lost business opportunities). Owayi's total liability for direct damages is, to the extent permitted by law, in no case higher than the amount you actually paid Owayi in the preceding twelve months. Nothing in these terms excludes liability for damage caused by intent or gross negligence, or in cases where the law does not allow liability to be limited.
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, with the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales, without prejudice to any mandatory consumer protection rules of your own country of residence that are not thereby overridden.
For a significant change to these terms, we will actively notify you, not just through a silent update of the date at the top.
